The Mathematical Center of the Science and Technology University «Sirius» has opened the submission of applications for the conference «Traffic Flows on Networks». The event will run from April 24 to April 28, 2023. The MIPT organizers will be Alexander Bugaev, Alexander Gasnikov and Andrey Raigorodsky.
Only citizens of the Russian Federation of the following categories can take part in the youth section of the conference:
- Senior students studying in physical and mathematical areas of training;
- Postgraduate students of mathematical specialties.
There are 20 places for selection in total. To pass it, you need to send an application by March 26, 2023. Be sure to include in the application:
— a resume containing information about full name, date of birth, place and course of study, as well as a list of scientific publications, a list of scientific conferences and schools in which he took part;
— a letter of recommendation from the supervisor, which includes information on the degree of compliance of the research topic with the theme of the conference, the degree of preparedness for the assimilation of the material, as well as an expert assessment of achievements.
After passing the selection, students and graduate students must provide a certificate from the place of study, taken no earlier than 3 months before the start of the event.
Sirius provides conference participants with:
- Accommodation;
- Two meals a day;
- A limited number of grants for undergraduate and graduate students to pay for travel/flight to participate in the conference in case of successful selection and submission of an official refusal to the request for travel payment signed by the head (or other authorized person) of the educational organization.
If a student or graduate student is not granted, he/she pays for travel/flight to the program on his own or at the expense of his educational organization.
Students and graduate students who have previously participated in other Sirius programs in 2023 at the expense of the University more than 2 times are not allowed to the program. If the invited students/graduate students have not reported their impossibility to attend the conference, they will not be admitted to the selection for the following programs at the expense of Sirius.
The conference will work in four sections:
- Section «Microscopic models of traffic flows as dynamic systems», dedicated to the memory of A.P. Buslaev. Curator: Yashina M.V.
- Section «Statistical physics and modeling of transport networks», dedicated to the memory of V.A. Malyshev. Curator: Kozlov V.V.
- Section «Data Mining in Transport Networks». Curator: Ya.A. Kholodov
- Section «Equilibrium models of traffic flows». Curator: Gasnikov A.V.
Participants of the equilibrium models section are advised to read the manual first:
Gasnikov A.V., Gasnikova E.V. Models of equilibrium distribution of traffic flows in large networks. URSS. 2023. 232 p. ISBN 978-5-9710-4380-5.
As a result of the conference, a special issue of the journal Computer Research and Modeling was published.
Details about the conference are available on the Sirius website.
