On March 26, Alexander Gavrilovich Biryukov, Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematical Foundations of Management at the MIPT School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, has passed away.
Since 1975, Alexander Gavrilovich has been engaged in research work and taught at the Department of Mathematical Foundations of Management of the FUPM MIPT. He lectured and taught seminars on operations research, optimization methods, computational methods in linear algebra, and other courses. Alexander Gavrilovich also created a course on optimization methods, which was read to more than one generation of FUPM students and formed the basis of the textbook. In addition to working at the MOU department, he was also a member of the Department of Higher Mathematics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Almost 60 years of Alexander Gavrilovich's life are connected with the MIPT His merits have been awarded a number of awards, including the Veteran of Labor medal, Certificates of Honor from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education of the Moscow Region, as well as the medal «100 Years of Russian Trade Unions» and the honorary title «Honored Teacher of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology».
In recent years, despite a serious illness, he helped young colleagues, worked with them on scientific publications, organized and administered exams.
Farewell to Alexander Gavrilovich Biryukov, along with the funeral service, will be held on Wednesday from 13:00 in the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord at the address: st. Dirigabelnaya, 2.
