Alexander Vladimirovich Gasnikov was appointed head of the laboratory «Multiscale Neurodynamics for Intelligent Systems» at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. The corresponding order was issued on August 9 Ministry of Education.

The purpose of the laboratory is to study new fundamental approaches to solving problems of global optimization and training of intelligent systems. The development is carried out from 2021 to 2023.

At the moment, the laboratory has implemented the following:
• Collaborative neurodynamic systems (KNS) for solving a wide class of
optimization and related problems with non-convex or discontinuous objective functions
• KNS for solving optimization problems in machine learning and signal processing
with mixed integer variables
• KNS for multi-criteria and multi-purpose optimization tasks
• KNS for multi-level optimization tasks
• Collective effects in optimization problems of large single-layer
and multi-layer networks are investigated
• The relationship between KNS, artificial neural networks and neural
differential equations is investigated
• Computationally efficient parallel algorithms for training neural networks have been developed.

The total amount of the grant is 90 million rubles, the amount of co-financing is 30 million rubles. 39 people are engaged in research in the laboratory. 15 publications of the first quartile (Q1) and 4 of the second quartile (Q2) have been published during the research.
