Gleb Molodtsov Presents at UAI 2025 in Rio de Janeiro

Gleb Molodtsov, a researcher at the lab, presented his work at the Uncertainty in Artificial Intelligence (UAI 2025) conference — one of the oldest and most prestigious international events in the field of AI. This year, the conference was held in Rio de Janeiro.

Gleb introduced his paper titled "When Extragradient Meets PAGE: Bridging Two Giants to Boost Variational Inequalities." In the paper, he proposed a new algorithm for solving variational inequalities by combining:

— the classical ExtraGradient method as a foundation
— with PAGE, a variance reduction technique
— resulting in a hybrid algorithm that improves both convergence and stability of optimization methods.

“It was an incredibly interesting experience — I met researchers from all over the world: China, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, the US, Germany, Japan, the UK. The atmosphere was vibrant, the discussions — intense. UAI is definitely one of the world’s leading communities in uncertainty, robustness, and optimization in AI. And as for the city — Rio was full of contrasts. Football is everywhere: yellow national team shirts and Flamengo colors on every corner. Tourist spots are loud and colorful, but step just 20 meters off the main street — and you’re already in a favela with a local gang. Just like in Fast & Furious 5,” — said Molodtsov.

The lab team congratulates Gleb on his successful presentation — and looks forward to more great results!
