Alexander Lobanov, an employee of the MIPT MMO laboratory, has been awarded a scholarship from the President of the Russian Federation for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. Representatives from all federal districts of 73 regions of Russia participated in the competition. Most applications were submitted in the field of «technical sciences», which includes work in areas such as microelectronics, structural materials, additive manufacturing, aerospace engineering, and others.
During the competitive selection process, the relevance, scientific novelty, and significance of the research, as well as the potential contribution to the scientific and technological development of Russia, were carefully evaluated. The achievements of graduate students in terms of their scientific contributions were also assessed. This included the number and quality of publications in reputable scientific journals, their experience in participating in research projects and implementing innovative initiatives, attendance at scientific conferences and level of public recognition in the field over the past five years. Alexander's research focuses on developing and exploring gradient-free convex optimization techniques in noisy environments.
«In addition to continuing research in this direction, my current scientific goal is to successfully defend my PhD thesis,» Lobanov shared his plans.
The amount of the monthly scholarship is 75 thousand rubles and will be paid until the end of graduate school. This decision was made in accordance with instructions following a meeting between the President and participants of the Congress of Young Scientists.
The laboratory staff would like to congratulate their colleague and wish them inspiration, success in their research, and productive scientific work!
