The staff of the MIPT MMO is working on a research project «Development of new functions of the Computational segment of the Prototype of a Digital platform for modeling transport behavior and testing on an expanded structure of source data in the framework of solving the problem of forecasting transport demand at the macro level.» The customer was the Russian University of Transport. The implementation period is until December 8, 2023.
This project is a natural continuation of the work of 2022 on the topic «Research of new algorithms for modeling traffic flows and development of a Computational segment of a Prototype of a Digital platform for modeling transport behavior.» This time the task is to explore new functions of modified algorithms using an expanded set of source data. The latter take into account several classes of users and demand layers corresponding to 7 target objects.
The purpose is to study and implement new functionality of the Computational segment of the Prototype, to solve problems at the macro level. The found characteristics of the UDS loading can be used to calculate a number of transport indicators, as well as to forecast the volume of emissions of pollutants and noise from road transport. In addition, the results of the study will be useful for assessing the socio-economic, budgetary and commercial effectiveness of projects.
To achieve this goal, the laboratory staff will conduct scientific research at the intersection of the theory of transport modeling, numerical methods of convex optimization and algorithm analysis (computational complexity theory).
