Yuri Vizilter, professor at the Russian Academy of Sciences and director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at MIPT, was a guest on «The Question of Science» program hosted by Alexander Gasnikov, the head of the lab, on Russia 24 TV. The main topic of discussion was «The battle of artificial intelligences», in light of the news about the emergence of the DeepSeek.

During the discussion, they discussed the laws of scaling, the issue of data exhaustion, and the emergence of a new field — prompt engineering.

Vizilter explained that when it became clear that not only was it important to train a model, but also how to ask it properly, there was a realization that a new profession would emerge with the advent of new AI tools. Instead of Python programmers, there would be programmers of large language models — prompt engineers, he explained.

There was also a discussion about the use of AI at work. Visilter believes that the widespread use of AI in Russia will mainly occur in the office sector. He said that wherever there are people working in offices with computers, there will likely be digital assistants powered by large AI models. Most Russian IT companies are likely to introduce various types of assistants in their products and ecosystems, according to the professor.

The scientific program «The Question of Science» is broadcast on Fridaysin the morning  on the Russia 24 TV channel.
