Registration for the Skoltech Machine Learning Summer School (SMILES) is open for undergraduate and graduate students. Participants will take a 12-day intensive course on modern statistical methods in machine learning. The main goal of the school is to unite Russian talent around the topic of AI. You can submit your application until June 1st; admission lists will appear on June 10th. The school will be held from August 1 to August 13, 2024 in the city of Pushkino, St. Petersburg. Participation is free.

SMILES participants will unite into teams of 2–4 people and will implement one of the proposed projects during the hackathon. Seminars will also be organized, mainly related to demonstration of work and programming of the discussed methods and algorithms. At the end, there will be a session with reports from the teams on the results of the projects, as well as a poster session with the presentation of the results of the scientific work of the participants.

School topics in 2024:

— Large language models;
— Multimodal approaches;
— Multi-agent systems;
— Generative approaches;
— Self-learning methods.

Among the speakers at the summer school is the head of the laboratory, Alexander Gasnikov. The presentation is available on the link.

The school will be held offline and online in Russian. It involves competitive selection for each of the participation formats; details are available at the link. At the end, participants will receive a digital (in case of online participation) or paper diploma confirming their participation, in Russian and English.
