Alexander Gasnikov, Head of the MIPT MMO Laboratory, delivered a lecture on artificial intelligence to Russian President Vladimir Putin at the main session of the international AI Journey 2023 conference on November 24, 2023. In his speech, the scientist revealed how artificial intelligence is developing, and also drew attention to the need to invest in specialized laboratories in the regions of Russia.

“Our country is full of talents, and there are tremendous opportunities. My dream as a scientist is to use my natural intelligence to understand the artificial one, how it works. But as the rector of [Innopolis University], the dream is different. There are a lot of talented children in the russian regions, from whom you can really make those who will benefit the country. And now everything is coming to this. If we unite, it will be very cool for the country, I feel it,” Gasnikov told Putin.

The rector of Innopolis also noted that the creation of research centers in the regions will help to gather young talents in one place and spread the necessary knowledge among them.
